Presentation: Cheryl W& Dennis Tormey presented information about the Mystic Carvers Club to the Mystic Rotary Club at Andiamo's Restaurant in Mystic on Monday, April 20th. Dennis brought multiple carving projects. The woodcarvings shown were by Dennis Tormey, Johns Harris, & Cheryl. Cheryl brought a powerpoint showing projects the club has participated in such as the Mayflower Carvings & Enders Island as well as some miscellaneous projects. Thank you to all who shared pictures. We are hopeful they will spread the word and encourage others to join our group.

Card: A card was passed around for John Harris who "took a digger" and is rehabbing. We wish him a speedy recovery!
Donation: Tools have been donated to the club by Bob Arpin. Bob has hung up his woodcarving apron as he spends more time with his friends and family.
Librarian: We are looking for a volunteer to be our Club Librarian & Closet keeper. Anyone interested in this position, please reach out to cawawrzynowicz@gmail.com Thank you!
Cheryl worked on re-organizing the closet. The books standing on the shelf are instructional, the boxes are patterns & inspirational projects. Please feel free to "Check Out" the books by signing them out with your name, book name, and date.
Change in Officers: We welcome Marissa King as our new club Secretary! She will begin her position Sunday, May 31st. We are grateful and excited for Marissa to step into this new role. Thank you so much Marissa! Dennis Tormey has promised to be a guide for the new officers this year, ensuring we have a seamless transition. We are grateful to Dennis's years of service to Mystic Carvers Club in his many positions! Thank you Dennis!
Classes: https://www.mysticcarversclub.com/#classes
- May 16th-17th - Bloomquist & Kaltenbach Instructors to give Wood Carving Seminar at the Beckish Senior Center in Columbia, CT
- June 26, 27, 28th - Stadtlander Instructor at Mystic Carvers Club at the Quiambaug Fire Company
- June 13th - 2nd Saturday in June, 10AM - 3PM, Carving Table at the Lebanon Historical Society Museum in Lebanon, CT. All are welcome to join!
- August 30th - "Carve-In" sponsored by Mystic Carvers Club at the Quiambaug Fire Company in August. Other wood carving clubs invited to attend.
Meeting Time: The meetings run from 9AM to 3PM. All are welcome to stay till 3PM. Should someone leave early, please do not take that as a sign to go. We have carvers who travel from distances and desire to carve with our Mystic Carvers. For them, traveling 1 to 2 hours to spend only 3-4 hours carving is disheartening. Please consider staying later so those wishing to fellowship in carving together can continue to enjoy your company! Bring a lunch or we can order a pizza!
